There is a growing demand among health-conscious consumers for alternatives to traditional energy drinks, which are often full of sugar and caffeine. Though these drinks provide energy boosts, the high sugar content can cause a hard crash. The high dose of caffeine in these drinks can result in anxiety and restlessness for some people, and many say they feel an energy slump when it wears off.

Yerba Magic is an energy drink made for those who want a natural, clean boost in energy. Long popular in South America, it is now entering the market in the United States.

“Yerba Magic is all about real energy for real people. It’s crafted for today’s health-conscious go-getters who want to stay sharp and energized without the crash or compromise,” says a spokesperson for the brand.

Discovering the Natural Boost of Yerba Mate Tea

Colin and Hanna Fiala Prieto conceived of Yerba Magic after they grew frustrated with the “lack of clean, reliable energy options” on the market. Hanna was struggling with an autoimmune disease and was looking for a natural way to boost her energy. When they couldn’t find the product they were searching for, they turned to a drink that has been a staple in Latin America for centuries.

Yerba mate tea is a South American beverage that has been popular in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. It is a natural caffeine source that contains antioxidants and polyphenols (plant compounds that act as antioxidants). The yerba drink has been used as a natural source of energy, and the couple realized it was a natural solution to their needs.

Together, Colin and Hanna created a “super drink powder” from yerba mate, which naturally contains caffeine and antioxidants. They also infused the yerba mate drink with prebiotics, probiotics, and nootropics.

Prebiotics help support existing gut bacteria, while probiotics are live bacteria that are beneficial to gut health. Nootropics are compounds used by health-conscious individuals to support mental performance.

Unlike conventional energy drinks, the yerba energy drink doesn’t rely on added sugars to boost energy, and instead uses the natural, low-calorie sweeteners stevia and allulose. These give consumers a seamless energy experience instead of the usual spikes and crashes.

“We wanted to bring a healthy energy alternative to the US market that actually tastes good and is good for you,” say the founders of Yerba Magic.

Yerba Magic flavors include Yerba Magic Peach Mango, a tropical sweet fruit blend, and Yerba Magic Strawberry Matcha, a berry-meets-tea flavor. The company recently added Yerba Magic Pink Potion.

The drink comes in packets that customers mix with water for a refreshing daily drink.

Steady Growth and Market Momentum

Yerba Magic is steadily growing in the energy drink market and gaining momentum as wellness customers discover the organic energy drink. The brand has reached #1 on Amazon and has been the #1 tea on the TikTok shop. It has garnered millions of impressions on social media, too. In a big step forward, Yerba Magic is now available at Target.

Colin and Hanna have aspirations to make Yerba Magic a household brand as its market reach increases and customers concerned with healthy alternatives to traditional energy drinks discover it.

“Simple, effective, and made to fuel busy lives, it’s the drink for those who want to feel their best while tackling their day, and most importantly, it tastes amazing,” the founders say.
